What do I need to bring?
You can just come as you are, you don’t actually need anything to practice yoga. So never worry about just arriving as you are, because sometimes life is such that any forward planning is impossible & yoga can be a great benefit at these times.
However there are a couple of things that will help you to get more out of the session if you are able to bring.
An exercise (birthing) ball – This should be big enough so that your knees are below your hips when you sit on it.
I have got a few spares and sometimes have these for sale to ensure the correct size.
It is really worthwhile buying your own, as you will use it throughout pregnancy to ease discomforts, in labour it is an invaluable tool for aiding relaxation and good positions, and it is also great for post natal recovery and fitness.
A yoga mat – again I do have spares.
Blanket & pillow for relaxation – Spares provided.
Water – always important to stay hydrated.
What do I wear? – Loose comfortable clothes. Leggings, jogging pants, stretchy maternity pants any type of fitness wear is ideal.
Yoga is practiced barefoot so no need for trainers
Can I eat before a class?
Yes!! Light meal is best, but it’s most important to keep your blood sugar up – fasting is not recommended in pregnancy and your yoga practice is there to support the pregnancy not work against it. Follow your instinct.
