Come and be looked after, enjoy time connecting with your baby and meet other mothers around the warmth of the fire.
A Weekly Space for you to rest, be nurtured & connect with your baby…
A warm and welcoming gathering for mothers and their little ones, from birth to crawling, nestled in our cosy, wood-fired Roundhouse in the Forest of Dean.
Motherhood can be a time of enormous change, and we believe mothers need nurturing just as much as their babies do.
Come in from the world, settle beside the fire and enjoy a nourishing bowl of homemade soup and a cup of herbal tea. There's time to chat, connect with other mothers and simply arrive, without rushing.
We'll then move into gentle mum-and-baby yoga, baby reflexology, soothing touch, songs, movement and deep relaxation — supporting your own postnatal recovery while enjoying precious moments of connection with your baby.
Everything is gentle, informal and led by the needs of the babies. Feeding, changing, cuddling, crying and sleeping are all part of the experience.
Afterwards, you're welcome to enjoy a gentle walk around the lake and explore the beautiful surroundings at Noxon Farm.
Pregnancy was what first brought me to yoga — and it changed the direction of my pregnancy, birth and life.
What surprised me was how gentle, enjoyable and completely down-to-earth the classes were. If I'm honest, I mainly went for the relaxation at the end! It may have been the first time I had ever truly learned how to relax.
After my baby was born, I continued with postnatal yoga, discovering how valuable it was to have somewhere to go where I could move, breathe, reconnect with my body and simply be, with my baby alongside me.
Over the years I've explored many forms of yoga, trained in pregnancy yoga and hypno-yoga for birth, and spent almost two decades supporting women through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
One thing I've come to understand deeply is that mothers need mothering too.
We spend so much time focusing on the needs of our babies, often forgetting that the mother is also going through an extraordinary transformation. She needs nourishment, rest, connection, reassurance and somewhere she can put down the demands of everyday life for a little while.
My background in Steiner early childhood education has also given me a deep appreciation for the importance of rhythm, song, movement, loving touch and the natural world in the early years of life.
And these are the things I love bringing together in my Mum & Baby Yoga classes.
Gentle postnatal movement and relaxation for you. Songs, rhymes, playful movement, massage and connection for your baby. A warm fire, a nourishing bowl of soup, herbal tea and time spent alongside other mothers.
There is no expectation to have a settled baby, to join in with everything, or even to do very much at all.
Some days you might enjoy the whole class. Other days you might spend most of it feeding, cuddling or simply sitting beside the fire.
And that's absolutely fine.
My hope is that you leave feeling a little more rested, nourished and connected — to yourself, your baby and the community of mothers around you.
